Domestic Services

Why work with us?

We take great pride in our dedication to customer satisfaction and the quality of our work. Upon arrival, our teams will immediately provide you with reassurance you are engaging the services of professional and competent operatives. The team will complete a dynamic risk assessment and agree a safe working plan to conduct the inspection and cleaning of your solar array. Upon completion, your premises are left clean and tidy and a written report is provided detailing the work carried out and any observations regarding your solar assets.

The cleaning methodology we employ depends on factors such as the location, condition, and accessibility of your array. We utilise specialised mechanical and manual cleaning systems specifically designed for solar arrays which differ significantly from standard window cleaning methods. Our operators are fully trained to protect themselves from electrical shock and work safely at heights when required. We prioritise strict adherence to safety protocols to ensure both your satisfaction and the well-being of our team.

Working at Height & Safety

We will always undertake a risk and method assessment and identify the safest way of working. In certain instances it is necessary to use elevated platforms. We are fully trained and IPAF-licenced to use mobile platforms. Alternatively, a scaffold tower may be used. Again, all staff have completed PASMA training and are certified to erect and climb scaffold. All operators use arc flash harnesses, dielectric gloves and boots.

Visual Inspection

Prior to cleaning your array, we will complete a roof line/close proximity inspection to assess for any hard shading, browning, moisture ingress, delamination and any visible cabling issues. This is completed as a visual inspection as part of our cleaning service and is not an electrical certification.

Our Service Options:

Service Contract Option 1 - Pure Water Cleaning

Option 1 - We use Pure Water to ensure your array is cleaned without leaving water spotting. Pure water is used in every cleaning process we undertake which we carry in volume on our vehicles. We also have the ability to purify local supply when necessary. Our Pure Water system is optimised to only use the required amount of water to ensure your array is completely clean yet does not waste natural resources.

Additional Options:

Thermal Imaging / Solar Siphon Installation / Bird & Rodent Proofing

Service Contract Option 2 - Pure Water Cleaning with WashProtect

Option 2 - We offer a popular option for clients to increase the effectiveness of Pure Water cleaning with the application of WashProtect. WashProtect is continually gaining popularity through its proven ability to extend cleaning cycles. Annual cleaning is typically sufficient with the application of WashProtect. This cost-effective, environmentally friendly application reduces static in the panels, reducing the ability for contaminants to bind to the panel surface. This is critically important in preventing algae and lichen growth. WashProtect is approved for use by all major panel manufacturers ensuring warranties are protected. It's not the character of our business to offer ineffective ‘upsells’.

Additional Options:

Thermal Imaging, Solar Siphon Installation, Bird & Rodent Proofing

Service Contract Option 3 - Lichen and Heavy Fouling Removal:

Option 3 - Lichen removal and bird fouling requires specialist cleaning and is time time-intensive. Arrays have to be cleansed at close proximity and may need elevated access to achieve this. A systematic process is followed, initially softening the panel soiling with a specialist cleaning solution followed by either mechanical or manual cleansing. We use environmentally friendly solutions that are fully biodegradable and can be safely applied without affecting plants, animals or damaging panels, frames or property. Due to the damage lichen growth and bird fouling can cause we strongly recommend the thermal imaging to be completed following cleansing to identify any consequential damage. Additionally, this is a logical time to install bird deterrents if fouling has been an issue.

Thermal Imaging Inspection

Thermal imaging of solar arrays uses infrared cameras to capture and analyse the heat signature of solar panels and provides valuable insight into the performance and efficiency of your solar array. Thermal imaging is best completed following cleaning (and is far more cost-effective) however it can be undertaken as a standalone service.

Thermal inspection fees vary according to location, array size, accessibility e.g. Ground mount, flat/pitch roof and if any elevated working platform is required. Further information about our service can also be found here.

Charges

Domestic solar array inspection and cleaning starts at £8 + VAT per panel (subject to survey) with scaling discounts available for larger arrays and multi-year service agreements.
